300.003 is a number that suddenly appeared in my life. In a very private moment, it suddenly became clear to me what reflections do to us and how important it is to be mirrored.
My portraits have to do with reflections too. I call them LOCUS PORTRAITs. The Latin word LOCUS stands for place, location, lay. Standing above them I photograph my models. They can’t leave and lie where they stood just before. Uncertain, almost distant and yet intimate.
In addition, the word LOCUS denotes a geometric location in elementary geometry. Beautiful, isn’t it? Ultimately, we’re all part of this world.

300.003 ist eine Zahl, die plötzlich in meinem Leben auftauchte. In einem sehr privaten Moment wurde mir plötzlich klar, was Reflexionen mit uns machen und wie wichtig es ist, gespiegelt zu werden. Auch meine Portraits haben mit Reflexionen zu tun. Ich nenne sie LOCUS PORTRAITs. Das lateinische Wort LOCUS steht für Ort, Lage und Liegen.
Über ihnen stehend, fotografiere ich meine Models. Sie können nicht gehen und liegen, wo sie kurz zuvor noch standen. Unsicher, fast distanziert und doch intim. Darüber hinaus bezeichnet das Wort LOCUS eine geometrische Position in der Elementargeometrie. Wunderschön, nicht wahr? Letztendlich sind wir alle Teil dieser Welt.
